These two naughty songs. “Warfare” is a heavy, uncompromising banger, flipping between breakbeat and four to the floor stomps amidst an atmosphere of jungle animal sounds, lifted by urgent horns and sirens. “Dominos” retains the dark tone but switches up the style to a deep bassy roller, tinged with a little bit of tech house. Sinden is an originator. He is one of the foundations of where Night Bass comes from and I couldn’t be happier to have him as a friend and as an artist on the label. The Crystal Maze EP feels like an epic return of a giant, retaining the sound of his original roots while progressing leaps and bounds into new territory. The overall sound is spacious and atmospheric with heavy weighted bass lines riding on top of his signature jackin’ drums.
